Household Donations

Your donated items are processed for resale by HHoGC employees. Your donations are resold in our discount store. With HHoGC’s help, our local community prospers. People once relying on government assistance (taxpayer dollars) become taxpayers themselves and contribute to the economic vitality of our community. All proceeds from sales in the discount store are used to assist those in need. Vouchers are provided for those that can not afford items or have had a tragedy of some nature (like house fire).

In short, unwanted items can actually better the community around us!

We are also very excited in our continuing effort to be green. HHoGC has saved over 1 million pounds of textile salvage from being placed in landfills.

Note: We can accept gently used items, but do not have the capacity to repair broken or badly damaged items. We do not accept any hazardous waste or any sort of debris.
Money Donations

Every donation helps to assist those in need. No donation is too small or too big. HHoGC appriciates any and all money donations towards our mission to provide emergency assistance for those that are struggling. HHoGC's goals are to assist in providing food, clothing, utility assistance, and medical assistance for those in need. Every money donation is used towards these goals.

Food Donations

Everyone needs nutritious food to thrive. And, while people are working hard to provide for themselves and their families, more than 50 million people in the U.S. still relied on food assistance from charities like Helping Hands of Greenup County in 2023.

When people are fed, futures are nourished

More than 47 million people in the US face hunger, including 1 in 5 children. Millions of people in the US don't have enough food to eat or don't have access to healthy food. This is a big problem, but together, we can solve it.

HHoGC staff and volunteers verify, sort, repackage (if needed), and distribute the food to those in need in Greenup County.

Two kinds of food drive
Traditional food drives

A traditional food drive allows you to collect food donations. You can involve your family and friends as well as your workplace or other organizations to collect canned food or other items. This allows you to make an impact in the fight against hunger.

Virtual food drive

A virtual food drive collects online donations instead of food. The money becomes meals and other services for people facing hunger. Cash donations from virtual food drives help HHoGC purchase food and invest in their programs.
